1.3 billion Indians waited with bated breath for the successful landing of the Vikram lander on the orbit of the moon but deviated from its path with just two kilometers to go and apparently crashed. However, the Chandrayan 2 orbiter equipped with eight scientific gadgets will continue with its 7 years mission of studying the moon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and pretty much the entire Indian population have been sending out hearty congratulations to the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
The American National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has truly showered sky high praises on its Indian counterpart ISRO by tweeting "Space is hard. We commend ISRO ’s attempt to land their Chandrayan 2 mission on the Moon’s South Pole. You have inspired us with your journey and look forward to future opportunities to explore our solar system together."
