You read the title right! NASA has confirmed the shoot of Hollywood actor Tom Cruise's upcoming action-adventure film in space. NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine wrote on Twitter: "Nasa is excited to work with Tom Cruise on a film aboard the Space Station!"
For now, there are no details available about the film. Also, it is not known when the star will blast off to the International Space Station for real. Meanwhile, Cruise is also working with Elon Musk's SpaceX, which will transport two US astronauts to the ISS for Nasa later this month.
Cruise has a history of taking on high-octane concept stunts and doing them himself. For Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, he scaled the world's tallest building, Dubai's Burj Khalifa. For Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Cruise hung onto the side of a plane.
And for Fallout, he performed a HALO (high altitude, low opening) jump 106 times for a sequence. By this upcoming movie, the actor becomes the first celebrity to film a movie in space.
