When 'Rockstar' was announced, common consensus was that Ranbir Kapoor would walk away with all the honours. Also with Imtiaz Ali at the helm of affairs, it was also apparent that this would be a director's film more than anything else. Yes, there were talks about a newcomer called Nargis Fakhri being roped in for the film which did add on to the glamour quotient. However ever since the First Look of the film has been revealed, it is crystal clear that there would be much more of Nargis that one would see in 'Rockstar' than just her glamorous self.

"Nargis has instantly made the industry stand up and take notice of her," says a prominent young and successful filmmaker, "All this while there were speculations in the industry that whether Nargis would manage to deliver at such a huge stage. However the way she has been prominently highlighted by director Imtiaz Ali in the promo shows the kind of trust he has in her.

An industry veteran adds, "I don't want to sound cynical but a First Look generally consists of some of the best shots from a film. She seems to be getting her body language and dialogues right too. However let's wait to see how she carries herself in the entire film."

Well, here is hoping that all the cynicism proves to be unfounded and an industry, which has been thirsting for some fresh talent, indeed gets someone who doesn't come with any starry bearings and actually manages a standing for herself in Bollywood.
