Narendra Modi has said that when a COVID-19 vaccine becomes available, everyone in the country will be vaccinated. Speaking to a news daily, the Prime Minister said that nobody in India will be left out.
At the same time, vulnerable sections (like old people and kids) and frontline workers (like doctors, paramedics, nurses) will be the first ones to get vaccinated.
Speaking to Economic Times, the PM said that more than 28,000 cold chain points will store and distribute Covid-19 vaccine units. "A digital platform to enroll, track and reach the beneficiaries is also being prepared," the PM added.
Modi said that, when the pandemic started, government hospitals in India had only 15,000 ventilators. And, in October, they have 50,000 ventilators.
