Zafar Sadiq, arrested for smuggling drugs, funded an entire Tamil film solely from his drug deal earnings.
During investigations into the arrest of three persons involved in drug smuggling, Delhi police discovered that Sadiq was behind the operation. A search was initiated on Wednesday morning in Jaipur, and he was arrested.
Many more shocking revelations have come to light during the Narcotics Control Unit's further investigation in this case. He has reportedly disclosed having smuggled about 3000 to 3500 kg of narcotic drugs and having reportedly invested mainly in movies.
He in particular said the whole amount that was involved in financing a Tamil film by the name of 'Mangai' was through money that they gained in the drug trafficking business. Besides, he said he invested in real estate businesses, like building a hotel in Chennai, out of that money claimed by him to be entirely, illegitimately acquired.
With these developments, a few senior authorities in the country are all set to put him behind bars. Besides, the inquiry has reached the stage of questioning some film figures to learn about their relationships with Sadiq. Some sources claim that some Mumbai celebrities had direct links with Sadiq.
