In the wake of Revanth Reddy's inauguration as Telangana's CM, he staunchly declared a crackdown on drug peddlers, emphasizing his commitment to a drug-free state. This resolve was reiterated during the assembly's thanks-giving motion on Governor Tamilisai's speech.
Subsequently, the Telangana Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) executed city-wide raids on Monday, seizing a substantial quantity of drugs in an SR Nagar apartment and arresting 12 individuals from Nellore. Among them were 12 engineering students and software employees, linked to Sampath, who brought drugs from Goa for Prem Chand's birthday celebration, son of Nellore Urban Development Authority Chairman Mukkala Dwarkanath.
Prem Chand orchestrated a drug party for around 30 people, revealing the youth's intent to procure narcotics for celebratory events. Notably, all engineers at the party belonged to a prominent software company, indicating collective planning and participation.
An SR Nagar party faced a robust operation by the Anti-Narcotics Bureau and SR Nagar police, resulting in the seizure of 40 Ecstasy pills from two peddlers and 12 consumers. Three attendees tested positive for narcotics in a 10-panel drug test, covering a range of substances. The arrest of Jalli Ashik Yadav on Saturday, and subsequently Duddu Rajesh on Monday, exposed their drug-addicted friendship since their days as students in Bangalore. They not only attended but also organized rave parties, providing narcotics to attendees.
Acting on intel from Ashik, a Monday raid in SR Nagar led to the apprehension of Duddu Rajesh and 12 consumers, with 33 more identified for further investigation by SR Nagar police. This sequence underscores the government's commitment to eradicating drug-related activities in the region.
People of Telangana are showering praises on CM Revanth Reddy and the new government's resolve to make the city of Hyderabad and the entire state drug free and uproot the menace of drugs which is spoiling the future of the youngsters.
