A location scout for Netflix’ original programme ‘Narcos’ was found dead in his car, while scouting for locations for the show’s next season in a violent rural area called Temascalapa, only 90 Km from Mexico City. His body had multiple bullet wounds.
Mexican police believe that Carlos Muñoz Portal, 37, might have been involved in some sort of chase, but do not have more conclusive information due to the lack of witnesses. The car was found near Hidalgo border, which has the highest homicide rate.
Muñoz, well-known for his talents as a location scout, has been working since 2003 and has worked on projects such as ‘Spectre’, ‘Fast & Furious’, ‘Man of Fire’, and ‘Apocalyto’, among others.
Netflix issued a statement sending their condolences to the deceased’s family, noting that little information regarding the death is known by investigators.
