Here is one personality of Kannada cinema S Narayan standing in front of his Bhadravathi theatre says he is in to all activities of cinema making. The theatre ÂManjunatha he saw the first half of the film ÂIbbani Karagithu and pushed out for the second half as he missed the counter foil but purchased the same theatre 18 years later. It was three years ago S Narayan took ownership of the theatre. He invested Rs.3.5 crores named it as ÂBhagyavathi Chitramandira.
Apparently Bhagyavathi is the name of S Narayan wife but the theatre is well maintained and it is on par with any high class theatres in city.
With original DTS equipments and screen from foreign countries S Narayan spruced up the theatre giving priority to cleanliness and loyalty.
No one can enter the theatre consuming alcohol. The balcony is priced at Rs.40 while middle class is Rs.30 and lowest class is Rs.20. There are 920 seats and recently ÂSuper Kannada cinema ran for six week and on demand ÂJackie was screened for two weeks. One show collection is Rs.27000 from this theatre. The theatre rent is Rs.45000 per week that is Rs.5000 more than the other theatres. From 20 kilometers Shimoga people come here to watch the cinema and get back to their places that is because of the high standards of this theatre ÂBhagyavathiÂ.
In Bhadravathi the home town of S Narayan this is the best of the seven theatres. There about 20 employees. For cleaning purpose there are four working in shifts and the regulations of a theatre maintenance is deployed strictly.
