In the trailer for 'Narappa', we see Venkatesh embarking on a macabre path. Reprising Dhanush from the Tamil original 'Asuran', the family actor is at his most violent self in years on the screen.

For director Srikanth Addala, this is a new sensibility. His films such as 'Seethamakka Vakiltlo Sirimalle Chettu' and 'Brahmotsavam' have had an image for being soo sattwik. But 'Narappa' is his only violent film till date.

Produced by D Suresh Babu and Kalaipuli S Thanu, the film is about what happens in the life of Narappa and his family and his son murders a landlord from a dominant caste in the village. Much of the story unveils in the backdrop of a forest. Fights are by Peter Heins and Vijay; they are important than even the composer of BGM.

Starring Priyamani as Sundaramma, Venky's wife, the film has Karthik Ratnam, Rajeev Kanakala and Rao Ramesh in other pivotal roles. Mani Sharma and Shyam K Naidu are its music composer and cinematographer, respectively.

With the story by Vetri Maaran, the film will start streaming on Amazon Prime from July 20.
