Kathukutti honoured in India's Capital

Debutante director Era.Saravanan`s acclaimed film Kathukutti` starring Narain, Shrushti Dange and Sorri in important roles was widely appreciated for its genuine and impactful portrayal of problems faced by delta farmers and the hazardous effects of the now banned Methane Extraction project.
After receiving critical acclaim and positive reviews down south the film had its share of admirers in the capital of the Country too. Recently the Kathukutty` team was honoured by the Delhi Tamils Association (Delhi Tamil Sangam). The event attended by thousands of Delhi based Tamil people.
Speaking about the film the Association`s General Secretary Kannan said "Within a few days after Kathukutti`, the Tamil Nadu Government has banned the Methane Extraction Project. This is the victory of an artwork and its creator. We celebrate Kathukutti` as the Tamil citizens living in the Indian capital. We also wish to conduct a success party of the film in Delhi"
Sathya Sundaram IPS, the Chief Guest of the event said "I am proud about this film as a native of Tanjore and as a Tamilan. Kathukutti` will last long as the identity of Tanjore people."
Director Saravanan who was felicitated in the function said "At this proud moment I recall the undeterred enthusiasm of the producer`s in giving a film that is very close to the soil. Every recognition received by Kathukutti` should go to the farmers living in the final corner of the state."
