'Shankara', the Nara Rohith-Regina Cassandra starrer is an action thriller directed by Tatineni Sathya Prakash of 'Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu' and 'SMS' fame.

In a month full of festival releases, the film will hit the screens on Oct 21.

The movie tells the story of a youngster who reacts to the wrongs around him. When he is put in a hostel, he gets embroiled in a crime not of his making. The film was completed two years ago, but could not see the light of the day.

An action thriller, the movie has John Vijay of Kabali` fame, Rajeev Kanakala, Rajeshwari Nayar and others in important roles. Produced by RV Chandramouli Prasad and MV Rau under Sai Leela Movies, it has music by Sai Karthik. Cinematography is by Surendar Reddy. Editing is by Kotagiri Venkateshwar Rao.

Producer RV Chandramouli says, "The hero doesn't like the loopholes of the society. He tries to rebel against them. In the process, he faces many obstacles and his mother and brother become his support systems during the phase."
