We had already reported that the release date of Tuck Jagadish starring Nani has been postponed from April 23. The lead actor has confirmed the news on Twitter much to the dismay of his followers. While everyone assumed that the film was delayed due to rising COVID-19 cases, Indiaglitz learnt that it was Nani who is behind the decision.
"Nani had a zoom video call meeting with producers Sahu Garapati, Harish Peddi and distributor Lakshman among others yesterday. While Lakshman along with the distributor of Krishna district has insisted the producers reduce the asking rates as the Andhra Pradesh government has refused permissions for special shows and a hike in ticket prices for the films starting from Pawan Kalyan-starrer Vakeel Saab.
The distributors feared that the Andhra government's decision would incur huge losses as several exhibitors are not showing interest to screen the film in theatres for existing ticket rates. "Despite repeated negotiations, Nani stopped producers to cut down the rates and he wanted to release Tuck Jagadish only after the ongoing ticket hike row gets sorted out. Until then, he requested the producers to not finalise the new release date of Tuck Jagadish, which has left the distributors annoyed," says a source close to the development.
Directed by Shiva Nirvana, Tuck Jagadish also features Ritu Varma and Aishwarya Rajesh as the female leads. Billed as a rustic action entertainer, the film has Jagapadhi Babu playing the role of Nani's brother.
