Nandita Swetha of 'Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada' fame will be seen as the female lead in 'Bluff Master', which releases on December 28. In this interview, the actress talks about her role in the movie, what kind of a remake it is, up-and-coming movies and more.

'Bluff Master' is a remake of a Tamil film. Is it a faithful remake?

This is my third film in Telugu. When 'EPC' released, I promised everyone that I will do only content-driven movies. This is my first remake and it was a good experience. I never watched the original until I completed this film. There are so many differences between 'Sethuranga Vettai' and the remake.

How was it working with 'Ghazi' and 'Antariksham' actor Sathyadev?

When I signed up the movie, I didn't know Sathyadev is the hero. Our combination will surely work out. There is chemistry between us, we have got along really well on the screen. We have performed a lot of sentimental stuff as well.

What is your role in the movie?

A plus point is that the director has borrowed only the story. The frames and scenes are new in 'Bluff Master'. Every character but for me is a bluff master in the movie. Avni is good and exudes innocence, positive energy. I am the reason why some things happen in the story. Every character is a different character. As an actor, Avni challenged me. Being innocent on the screen is not easy. It's not easy to carry over. We are not really innocent unlike the face of kids. Making the audience believe that you are innocent is not easy at all. I am also pregnant in the climax.

The director of this movie hadn't watched 'EPC' when he cast me for this movie. I told him he wouldn't have cast him in 'Bluff Master' had he watched that movie. I am showing differentiation in this movie through my body language.

What are your upcoming movies?

After 'EPC', people thought I am older than my age. But when they saw me in real life, they discovered how young I am. In 'Srinivasa Kalyanam', I was a heroine and could be myself. I am doing 'Kirataka' in Kannada opposite Yash. The directors are picking me as an actor more than a heroine. They are believing that I can do mature roles. 2018 was so good for me as it kept me busy with one or the other movie every month. I am doing 'Kalki', 'Seven', 'Prema Katha Chitram-2', 'Abhinetri' sequel and one other movie in Telugu.

Who is your role model? How do you see your career shaping up?

My role model is one Nandita Swetha (laughs). I gave a horrible performance in my first film. I then took a break for four years, completed my education, was into modelling, before doing my second film. Destiny has taken me to a few horror movies. I have always loved horrors since childhood. The sequel to 'Abhinetri' is not purely a horror film.
