Actress-director Nandita Das hogged all limelight with her plain speak at the International Film Festival at Goa. Shinning bright after the success of her debut directorial venture ‘Firaaq’, she said, “A movie has to reflect the culture of the land.”

‘Firaaq’ is set in the backdrop of Gujarat riots. “I screened my movie in various film festivals. It was appreciated everywhere. There is no need for Indian filmmakers to change their style to please foreign audiences,” she said.

Though the movie was based on India and specially Gujarat, it was received well by people outside the country, she said.

A good work should be engrossing and art knows no language barriers, she stressed.
