IndiaGlitz was the first to break the news that popular poet and lyricist Kutti Revathi is planning to direct a new film with Samuthirakani in an pivotal role.

Now the news has been confirmed and there is another interesting addition to the project. Nandita Das will play the lead role in this film, which will deal with the suffering of a women within their families in Tamil Nadu. She was last seen by Tamil audience in the 2012 film 'Neerparavai' and this film will mark her comeback in Kollywood. The script for the film has been written by popular Tamil writer Damayanthi.

Kutti Revathi in her interview to an English daily has said she felt Nandita and Kani will be the apt choices for the main roles and she approached them. Both of them instantly agreed to be part of the film after listening to the script. Nandita is presently busy with another film and she will join the team after completing that project.

The film will go on floors in September. The title is yet to be finalized.
