Tamil actresses have not only gone to Tollywood but also have managed to notch up egregious success there. Sneha and Trisha are good examples.

They are not only top heroines there but also are winning awards regularly.

The two smart young actresses have been selected for the prestigious Nandhi Awards announced annually by the Andhra Pradesh State government. They won the award for the year 2005 announced on Saturday.

While Trisha was selected for her stupendous performance in Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, Sneha walked away with the honors for the movie Radha Gopalam.

A thrilled Sneha was happy with the double whammy. ‘I got the Kalaimamani award by the Tamilnadu government last year and now the Andhra Pradesh government has awarded me the coveted Nandhi award.'

'Radha Gopalam was hilarious as well as sensitive entertainer and it was a great experience shooting for the movie. I thank the entire unit involved in the making of Radha Gopalam for the award’.

Trisha is also upbeat at winning the honour.

She says, 'The award is a motivating factor for me to achieve more things. Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana has got me not just laurels but also fame and name in Andhra Pradesh'.

Now the big test awaits them: That of living up to the new reputation.
