Actor Nana Patekar, who has featured in films such as the comedy "Welcome" (2007), is currently shooting for his upcoming film "Journey." A video that went viral on social media platforms captured an incident when Patekar seemed to have slapped a young fan who halted his shoot in Varanasi to click a selfie with him.
While shooting for "Journey," the boy approached Patekar for a photograph, on which the actor patted the back of his head. Thereafter, a crew member came in front and took the boy sideways. The video has now gone viral, attracting reactions from online users with both criticism and suggestions that permission should have been sought before Patekar undertook the cleaning activity.
Patekar's next assignment also stars Utkarsh Sharma in "Gadar 2." The movie is directed by Anil Sharma, and filming is currently underway in Varanasi. Sharma said he was too excited about the project and expressed his opinion about how the story of the epic would resonate with every Indian. He waited for a loud response from the audience and asked for their blessings and support for this new venture of his.
Speaking of Varanasi as the shooting location, Sharma said that the spiritual rigour of the place uplifts the atmosphere of the city. So, he was under the belief that this positive energy would carry forward into the film and make sure everything went smoothly during the course of shooting.
