Namrata calls hubby Mahesh 'Baby'

They famously tied the knot after being Valentines for years. Least do Mahesh Babu's countless female fans know that, long before he caused them heartburn, he had become Namrata Shirodkar's 'Baby', and still continues to be one.

I don't remember who told 'I love you' first to the other one. I will telephone you when I remember it, Mahesh replied to a question by Puri.

After posing a couple of questions to the star, Puri came to Namrata and asked her what she addresses her husband as. I address him as (by the nickname) ‘Baby,’ pat came the reply. It is known that Mahesh is addressed as Nani by his elders at home. We made a movie with Nani as the title. But, it flopped, he had said jokingly.

Asked what he thinks of Kajal, Mahesh described her as a good co-star to work with. Puri later laughingly mocked his standard testimonies about everyone from Trisha to Samantha to now Kajal. To which, of course, Mahesh had no answer.

Play to release on Dec. 30

Play, a comic thriller written and directed by Krishna Varma, will be released on Dec. 30. Krishna Varma had a serendipitous discovery when he found a map (a chart kind of thing, in his words) that was made by a Vijayanagaram lad way back some 15 years ago. He has written the script of Play on the basis of this chart, by interspersing a few real-life incidents in his life.
