Namitha, who had been to take part in a function in Puthukotai, was mobbed by fans on Sunday. She was swarmed by avid fans who want to get a close look of their actress.

Mobbed by the fans, the actress cried out for help. Police immediately rushed to the spot and resorted to a mild lathi charge to disperse the crowd.

A relieved Namitha was rescued from the scene and was sent to her hotel.

There have been several instances in the past when actors and actresses were mobbed by fans. The likes of Simran, Jyothika, and Srikanth had similar experiences in the past.

Certainly one has to pay the price for being very popular.
