Transgender model, actress and activist Namitha Marimuthu pariticipated as a contestant in 'Bigg Boss Tamil' season 5 in 2021. She made a good impression with the housemates and audiences but her stay was shortlived as she walked out due to medical reasons.

Host Kamal Haasan spoke about her on the show “I was thinking that the representation of such a talented person from the transgender community was an important one. But, I learnt from Bigg Boss that she has quit the show due to unavoidable reasons. Namitha has broken all the barriers in her path and has succeeded in her life. I would like to wish her to continue to achieve similar successes in the future also”.

Namitha has done just what Kamal wished her and has won the title of MISS POPULAR VOTE OF THE WORLD at the Miss International Queen's Beauty Contest held in Thailand. She walked the ramp dressed as the god Ardhanarishvara which wowed the audiences.

Namitha is the first transgender model to have won the title and her fans are celebrating her achievement on social media wishing her more success.
