Nallavan
Jayasuriya is going through the best of the times in his career, finding his solo hero hit in `Ivar Vivahitharayal' which completed hundred days recently. And now he is looking for a facelift which will change his softer image and power him as an emotionally potent action star. He is thus getting ready to play a role of a lifetime in the new movie `Nallavan'. Directed by debutante Aji John, a popular television director and editor, the movie will offer exciting opportunities for Jayasuriya to prove his mettle as a complete actor, capable of donning more weighty roles.
Planned on a larger canvas, the movie will have Jayasuriya donning the three life stages of the central character named as Kocherukkan, a happy youth who lives an ordinary life in a quiet village somewhere in the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. He is in love with Malli, an agile adventurous cheerful girl, who is ready to go to any extent to realize their love. Both of them are orphans, making a livelihood as servants in the house of two big landlords of the village. As everyone knows about their love and their impending marriage, they are the pets of all in the village. The colourful life of the Kocherukkan and Malli takes a sea change, as something drastic happens, when they are just into their married life. And Kocherukkan is thrown behind bars for crimes that he has never even thought to commit.
Jayasuriya will appear in a varied makeup and hairdo to realize the demands of three different life stages of Kocherukkan. The movie will be completed in three schedules.
Scripted and edited by the director himself, the movie will bring to screen the narrative techniques witnessed in the recent rustic village based hits of Tamil like `Subramaniapuram' and `Naadodikal'. Also planned with a Tamil version, `Nallavan' will bring in the best of the artists in supporting roles from Tamil and Malayalam industry.
Planned to start its shoot by February, the movie will be shot at Punaloor, Chennai, Thenkasi and Madurai.
