Kavitha Devi a widow lived with her three daughters Vaidehi (19), Bhagyalakshmi (16) and Mahalskhmi (10).  A few months back she got into a physical relationship with the area Village Officer assistant Ramana.  The Nainaarpalayam villagers near Chinnasalem stated to press people that Kavitha after her children go to school would inform Ramana and the duo will often have sex in the house.

The eleventh standard student Bhagyalakshmi on April 6th had come home early from school and was shocked to see her mother and her illegal lover in a naked state making out in the house. She had questioned her mother's unacceptable behavior and Kavitha Devi and Ramana reportedly beat her up.  A dejected Bhagyalakshmi consumed poison and fainted.  She was rushed to the local hospital and then shifted to the town hospital but passed away without responding to treatment.

The girl's grandfather Muthuswamy has lodged a complaint against Kavitha Devi and Ramana for instigating the suicide and the police have arrested the couple.
