The 'Dharma Porata Deeksha' of Chandrababu Naidu took place on Monday. The one-day protest in Delhi was meant to demand special category status for Andhra Pradesh. The high-profile hunger strike invited the sympathy of the likes of Rahul Gandhi, Manmohan Singh and Arvind Kejriwal.

A national TV channel has on Tuesday revealed that the strike saw an expenditure of Rs 10 Cr. This is taxpayers' money. Several folks on social media are lamenting that the Andhra Pradesh chief minister splurged a huge amount on a political protest.

The news channel even accessed a Government Order that sought the huge funds from the state exchequer. About Rs 1.12 Cr was spent on the mobilization of supporters. Other bills cost a whopping amount.
