The whole industry is agog and excited at this development.

The man who you saw as Mass bashing the baddies and cavorting with the beauties is set for a role that is from the other end of the spectrum. Now he may play the role of Bhakta Ramadas.

But that is Nagarjuna, the man in question.

According to industry reports, Nagarjuna is to play the character of Bhakta Ramdas for a new movie that is expected to go to the floors some time later this year.

Veteran K Raghavendra Rao will wield the megaphone. Nags and Raghavendra Rao's association goes a long way back. In fact, it is the same duo that made Annamayya --- the film on Annamacharya.

That movie is still a milestone for the ever-experimenting Nagarjuna. The songs of that film, set to tune by Keeravani, were great hits. Naturally, the same music composer has been roped into wield the baton for Bhakta Ramdas.

The music director has visited Bhadrachalam to get an insight into Ramdas' works.

Bhakta Ramdas is a well-known saint composer who hailed from Bhadrachalam. He was Rama's devotee and most of his songs were on King-God.

The other cast and crew of the film, including the one who would play Lord Ram, is to be decided later.
