The audio of 'Om Namo Venkatesaya' was released today in Hyderabad. The event was graced by the devotional flick's cast and crew members.
Sourabh Jain thanked K Raghavendra Rao and Nagarjuna for the great offer to play Lord Venkateswara in 'Om Namo Venkatesaya'. "I hope I will be accepted by the audience down South as well," he said.
Vimala Raman said, "I feel very blessed to have played the role of Padmavathi in this movie. I thank the director for giving the opportunity. It's not easy to do a film like this. I wish everyone who has worked for the movie all the best."
Pragya Jaiswal said, "I consider myself blessed and fortunate to be a part of this film. When I got the offer, I watched 'Annamayya' and 'Sri Ramadasu'. I hope 'ONV' will be that big a success, or even bigger. You are very sweet and kind to work with, director sir. Nag sir is a fabulous co-star. Everybody in the crew was so loving."
JK Bharavi recalled how Nagarjuna redefined Tollywood by spotting Ram Gopal Varma and by doing 'Ninne Pelladatha' with Krishna Vamsi. "When I, who had no experience, came up with the story of 'Annamayya', Nagarjuna garu told me that very day that this film will be immortal in the hearts of the people. He has since made 'Manam' with a Tamilian, Vikram Kumar, watching which many had to shut their mouths. Playing commercial hero's roles for years, only he could have dared to do such movies from time to time. When we offered him 'ONV', he said that he will do it only if the climax is better than that of 'Annamayya'. If he has done this film, it means he felt that it has a great climax. It's up to the audience to make 'ONV' a bigger hit."
Sri Veda Vyas said, "Before I was asked to write 'Dhaga Dhaga..', I was told that nobody should understand a single word. I wrote the song and asked people in the recording theatre if they understood anything. They said 'No'. For another song, I was asked to do the exact opposite."
Naga Chaitanya said that the devotionals made by KRR with his dad will be remembered forever. "Nanna garu doesn't care about the trend. He does films as per his liking," he said. Asked if he will ever do a devotional, Chay said that there he had a long way to go before he does that.
Ramajogayya Sastry said, "This film presents a historical combination. I am blessed to have teamed up with them."
Anantha Sriram enriched his speech with metaphors related to spiritual bliss. "It was a great bliss to pen a song for the climax. In 'Annamayya', the climax had a song which was penned by Annamacharyulu himself. The climax song of 'Sri Ramadasu' was a Veda Vyasulu creation. It's my fortune that I got to pen the climax song of 'ONV'. MM Keeravani garu, I think, will be the last music director who composes music for lyrics rather than the other way round. I hope I am wrong."
Dil Raju said, "When I came to know that this movie fell in place, I approached AMR (producer) anna with the request to involve me in the project. We all make movies for money, but AMR anna makes movies with an artistic vision."
Jagapathi Babu said, "Working with Raghavendra Rao is like going to home, not to a shooting location. Even though it's a small role for me, I enjoyed myself working with Nagarjuna, whom I have always looked up to. I have a song with Anushka, which is a bumper offer for me."
Prudhvi and Raghu Babu expressed their happiness over being part of the project. They said that it was a back-breaking experience that Nagarjuna and the director went through while doing the movie. "This film will make even poor people and old ones to want to go to Tirumala at least once," Raghu Babu said.
Anushka said, "I want to thank the whole crew, especially Raghavendra Rao garu. I never imagined that I will do a divine character, that too in a Nagarjuna garu's movie. It was with Raghavendra Rao garu that I first met Nagarjuna garu. This movie has a lot of meaning and significance. I hope you all will love it."
MM Keeravani said, "Having done the devotionals over the years, I feel like saying 'Telusa manasa idhi ae janma sambandhamo'. The songs are chanting 'Om namo Raghavendraya'. Your cheers are chanting 'Om namo Nagarjunaya'."
Mahesh Reddy said, "I thank the entire team. 'ONV' is another 'Annamayya'. This is a film for the new generation, who will learn about the rituals, miracles of the Lord, why the Lord played a game with his devotee, etc."
K Raghavendra Rao said, "Swamy fulfills our wishes. He has given me great parents, he made me a filmmaker, he gave me the opportunity to work with so many stars. I never imagined that I will make 'Annamayya'. I never imagined that I will make 'Sri Ramadasu'. I never imagined that I will do 'Pandurangadu'. All of this happened because of Swamy. When I wanted to make a devotional on Babaji, Bharavi came to me with his writing. The Lord gave me the producer Mahesh Reddy. When 'Annamayya' was being made, Nagarjuna would ask me as to how he should perform. When 'Sri Ramadasu' was being made, he asked only about how he should tell the dialogues. But with this film, he did his job looking at the Lord. If you want to see the Lord, you have to see through the eyes of Nagarjuna. That's how he has acted in the film. The God indicated that I rope in Anushka for a devotee's role. I dared to cast her knowing well she is a 'veera nari'. When we were looking for an actor to play the Lord's role, God spoke a North Indian name. He is Sourabh Jain. Keeravani is the soul of this movie.&n
