On Sunday, the Hyderabad police raided a farmhouse at Manchirevula near Outer Ring Road (ORR). As per TV reports, the farmhouse was taken on lease by actor Naga Shaurya's parents three years ago. It's otherwise owned by an IAS officer.
As per the police, gambling was going on at the farmhouse for several hours. Mobile phones, playing cards, and electronic items were seized. Besides, about Rs 24 lakh was also seized by the police. Sumanth Chowdhary, who has been described by the media as a friend of the 'Varudu Kaavalenu' actor, was allegedly organizing gambling. He has since been arrested.
Speaking to TV9, the owner of the farmhouse who had leased out the property to Naga Shaurya's parents expressed shock that gambling was going on, on his premises. "I was thinking that a party was being organized. Until I learned about the raid on TV, I was clueless about what was going on. Naga Shaurya has visited this property only a couple of times so far," the owner said.
