Naga Chaitanya is set to make his debut on the OTT platform with the highly anticipated web series titled "Dhootha." The 8-episode series is scheduled to be streamed on Amazon Prime, starting from December 1, 2023. Ahead of its release, the series had a special screening at the prestigious International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
The gala premiere at IFFI was attended by lead actors Naga Chaitanya Akkineni and Parvathy Thiruvothu, producer Sharrath Marar, and director Vikram K. Kumar. The series received an overwhelming response, leaving the audience awestruck at the film festival.
Prime Video, India's popular entertainment destination, showcased the much-awaited Telugu Original series, "Dhootha," at IFFI. The gala premiere witnessed the presence of lead cast members, Naga Chaitanya Akkineni and Parvathy Thiruvothu, producer Sharrath Marar, and director Vikram K. Kumar, along with Sushant Sreeram, country director, Prime Video, India. The event was also graced by Shri Prithul Kumar, Director - IFFI, MD, NFDC Ltd, Joint Secretary (Films), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, and Smt. Delilah M. Lobo, Vice Chairman of Entertainment Society of Goa.
The supernatural suspense thriller, "Dhootha," features a stellar cast including Priya Bhavani Shanker and Prachi Desai in pivotal roles. This series marks the streaming debut of Naga Chaitanya Akkineni and Parvathy Thiruvothu's entry into Telugu cinema. It is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video in India and across more than 240 countries and territories worldwide on December 1.

Naga Chaitanya Akkineni shared his excitement about his streaming debut, stating, “I couldn’t have asked for a better series to make my streaming debut. As an actor, I consume a lot of content on OTT, and always wanted to explore the space. The collaborative aspect of working in a series with a more extended engagement with the same character and fellow actors is intriguing and refreshing."
Parvathy Thiruvothu, discussing her decision to join "Dhootha," said, “I am a fan of suspenseful thrillers, but the decision to be a part of Dhootha was more of the script choosing me than me choosing it. Dhootha is unlike anything I have done in the past, and I was curious and excited to do something so unique."
Director Vikram Kumar shared his thoughts, stating, “I let my instincts lead me while working on the story of Dhootha, and from just a suspense-thriller, it evolved into something deeper and more meaningful. Dhootha is by far one of the most ambitious Telugu series and is a result of countless hours of preparation, immense dedication, and tireless efforts from an amazing team.”
Producer Sharrath Marar added, “When Vikram narrated the concept of Dhootha, we at NorthStar knew that it would definitely be a landmark in Telugu cinema.
