Nag sets off to Varanasi

Nag is pretty confident that Rajanna will make it on its own. He has promoted the film as best as he could in the past few days. Just as the film is about to release on Dec. 22, he left for Varanasi to shoot there for Damarukam.

He announced the same yesterday after a screening of Rajanna to close associates and family members (including ANR and Venkat). Says the actor, I am confident about the outcome of Rajanna. I have no worries and, that's why I am back to work.

He is expected to aggressively promote the film after his return on Friday. Rajanna has got all the merits of a universal film; its theme is not hackneyed, its music is a multitude of genres and the genre of Rajanna itself has become the talk of the town.

Meanwhile, Damarukam is said to have been done by nearly half. Starring Anushka Shetty as the female lead, the film is scheduled to release in April, 2012.

ANR does an Amitabh for Rajanna

Akkineni Nageshwara Rao's mellow voice is a far cry from Amitabh Bacchan's (who has lent his voice for many Bollywood films such as Lagaan, Jodhaa-Akbar, et al) stentorian baritone. His voice would not have suited a normal film. Not Rajanna, which is a mature film set way back more than six decades ago.
