Nag, Genelia get Nandi Awards for 2006

Nagarjuna got thebest actor award for 2006, while the best actress award went to Nandita Das for her redistic portrayal in 'Kamli'. Genelia, who has bagged many popular awards for her line-wire performance in 'Bommarillu', had to suffice with the Special Jury Award.

The Nandi award for the best picture went to 'Bommarillu, as expected. Shekhar Kammula who got critical acclaim for 'Godavari, has been adjudged the best director. The huge success of 'Happy Days' and this Nandi award, take him into the top league of directors who manage to please the masses and critics.

Nagarjuna expressed his happiness for bagging the award for a film like 'Sri Ramadasu'. Shekhar Kammula had an encore as 'Godavari' got the nandi award as the second best film.

The State Film Development Corporation announced the awards list today.

The same will be given away in a function held by the state government in the last week of March, it has been announced.
