Nag's dialogue disrespects women, say Chinmayi's trolls

Prominent playback singer Chinmayi continues to be trolled for 'Manmadhudu-2'. Keyboard warriors on social media are commonly miffed with her because they think the "feminist" practises double standards. They allege that Chinmayi has one set of standards for others' films and another set for her husband Rahul Ravindran's 'Manmadhudu-2'
In the Nagarjuna film, which released last week, the male lead says that he likes only heavy women. Rakul Preet Singh, whose dubbing is by Chinmayi herself, responds to the remark. Trolls feel that the scene disrespects women and so, Chinmayi should have prodded her husband to remove the line from the movie. "Chinmayi is a hypocrite who is silent also on that scene where Rakul's character kisses Jhansi without the latter's consent," says a social media user.
There are other reasons too why the singer has been trolled. Says Veda Samhith, "Hi Chinmayi, I have a doubt about 'Manmadhudu-2'. Why was Nag's help needed for Rakul in the hotel fight scene? Is she so weak emotionally to not put up a fight, if not physically, to actually fight? Were your suggestions not taken for that scene? Or Rahul felt Nag's heroism is greater than feminism?"
