The Nadigar Sangam elections which was supposed to be held on June 23rd amidst various controversies has been stopped by the Registrar of Societies citing that many rules of the association have been violated. Already the High Court had refused to allow the elections in at the proposed MGR Janaki college venue and now this comes as another major blow to the embattled union of the Tamil actors.
Other issues that are plaguing the elections are disparities in the voter's list, the opposition Sankaradas Swamigal Ani complaining about the presiding officer Rtd. Judge E. Padmanaban and the decision to conduct the elections after the tenure of the completion of the tenure of the office bearers.
According to industry analysts, It remains to be seen whether the warring factions fof Pandavar Ani consisting of Vishal, Karthi, Nasser, Karunaas and Poochi Murugan and the Sankaradas Swamigal Ani having K.Bhagyaraj, Isari Ganesh, Prashanth, Kutty Padmini and Udaya would bury their differences and reunite for the common good of the film industry.
