Naalai
These days, gangster movies are the flavour. Every aspect of the dark underworld is sought to be captured by eager directors.
Naalai takes a new angle. In that it chronicles the friendship between two gangsters.
Director Udayabanu Maheswaran says the challenge was in touching the segments in the relationship of two individuals, condemned by the society.
'There is the human side which I have tried to focus. Everyone craves for a better tomorrow and live on hope. Undergoing a bad phase is all in the life of every individual. One needs a strong will power to get out of that and start life all again.'
The director says he has tried his best to give a positive coating. 'To get the finesse, technicians of Chennai and Mumbai have joined hands.'
Richard, who won rave reviews for his workman-like performance in the Telugu flick A film by Aravind is paired with Madhumitha. Nataraj Subramanian, who has worked in numerous advertisement films as cameraman, plays the second hero. Mumbai actor Adityan Srivatsan makes his debut in Tamil.
Karthikraja's music is a major highlight of the movie, Maheswaran says and adds, the whole cast and crew have given their best.
The other credits are: Art: Maniraj, Cinematography: G Ramesh, Editing: Krishnamurthy-Sivanandan, Songs: N Muthukumar and Choreography by Shanthi.
