Udhayabanu Maheswaran, who made his debut as a director with Naalai, is elated since the movie has found favor with the audience and also made the distributors happy.

'My attempt to chronicle the friendship between two gangsters has been received well by the masses', he says.

With accolades pouring from various quarters, the director has silently begun work for his new venture in Tamil.

Udhayabanu Maheswaran's next Tamil film has been titled Aasan. He joins hands with cinematographer G Ramesh and music composer Karthik Raja again for the movie.

On Aasan, he says, 'I vouch that it would be totally different from Naalai. It would be a wholesome entertainment. Aasan would feature lesser-known artistes and plans are on to bring theatre artistes from Mumbai and Delhi'.

Rendering a hit in the second film is acid test for any director and I hope I pass it with ease, he adds.
