Terrifying images show patients in masks as Chinese hospitals cannot contain the new, mystery illness from spreading throughout.
More people are falling ill with the flu and other ailments, Beijing says, but they do not suspect a new virus is behind the spike. Instead, they propose masks, staying away, and staying home when ill. It was the first winter without COVID-19 lockdowns in China.
Reports had it that hospitals were cram-filled with sick children. The Chinese health minister said that they are well-prepared for the next one, though the last wave caused global panic.
Because of the similarity in the pre-COVID scenario and past concerns where China was withholding information from the world leaders, the WHO officially urged Beijing for more information. They were concerned about other foreign leaders.
The Chinese Ministry of Health attributes these increases to the flu, RSV, and microorganisms. They've raised demand for medical services, vaccines, and the prevention of illness.
After COVID-19 limited immunity, it added to winter infections hiking the country over, comparable to waves in the US and UK.
Parents are worried as there is no clearer information and that the outbreak is similar to the one preceding the COVID-19 pandemic. Chinese officials say they're managing crowds despite hospital attacks.
During this time, the WHO rarely speaks out in public but is doing so now to express concerns and request additional information from China regarding a recent outbreak of respiratory infections among children. However, officials say this isn't as bad as others. They allege that germs were out once the COVID regulations eased. Earlier, China and WHO faced allegations to hide the Wuhan outbreak.
