The Oscar-winning music director AR Rahman has said that he made the short film 'Le Musk', his directorial debut, when his wife told him he might want to make a story on perfumes. It was this idea which struck the right chord with Rahman, who then decided to make an episodic Virtual Reality multisensory international film.
That's 'Le Musk' for you, which is based in Rome, Italy, and which was shot using high-end technology in 13 days. Also written by Rahman himself, it is a female-centric film which tells the story of an "orphaned heiress who is a part-time musician". Nora Arnezeder, Guy Burnet, Munirih Grace and Mariam Zohrabyan are the main actors.
Yesterday, the film's making video was shared by the Mozart of Madras on Facebook, much to his fans' applause.
Rahman's next film is going to be one based on Indian dance forms, both classical and folks. It will be a true treat for Indian culture aficionados as well as music-lovers.
