The pre-release event of 'Dear Comrade' was held on Wednesday evening ahead of the film's release on July 26. Speaking on the occasion, Rashmika Mandanna spoke at length about her character in the movie.
"You have to fight with yourself, your body, your circumstances - you have to keep fighting to reach where you want to. I had to fight with my mother, father and others to enter the film industry, which they argued with me is not a safe place. Despite having no background, I am here. When director Bharat Kamma sent me the script of 'DC', I loved it like crazy. But I had to convince my parents to be able to do this film. They said that I shouldn't do another movie with Vijay Deverakonda. It was a bad fight at home," Rashmika revealed.
"Practising cricket for 4-5 months for this role was not easy. I had a shoulder dislocation, I twisted my ankle, I had bruises - I went through hell. I had to fight with my body to be able to do this. I had to fight to match up to the talent of the bloody amazing Vijay. Every day, it was a fight," the 'Geetha Govindam' actress said.
"Actresses go through a lot of difficulties to be what we want to. None respects us for the hard work that we put in. Just like me, every girl, every boy is fighting for what he wants. Some girls are not given the freedom to study abroad. Given how difficult it is, we are tempted to give up. But fighting is always worth it. If I hadn't fought for this script, I wouldn't be talking to you today," she added.
"Vijay fights hard for what he wants. He is a bloody inspiration to me. I am so lucky to have known him," she signed off.
