Skin trade is a lucrative business in the shady universe of human trafficking. Skin tissues extracted from women are used in the field of surgery for penis and breast enlargement. 'My Name is Shruthi', an upcoming film fronted by Hansika Motwani, touches upon this dark aspect of crime. It builds a plot around traffickers and victims. There is a reference to Nepal being a centre of skin trade, followed by India.
The teaser hits the bull's eye. It seems the film is an edgy thriller where female characters have a strong role. Hansika plays an Ad filmmaker whose creative job is contrasted by the gore in her life. Prema, the star actress of the 1990s, plays a key role. Versatile character artist Murali Sharma has a pivotal part as well.
Also featuring 'Swamy Ra Ra' actress Pooja Ramachandran, Raja Ravindra, Praveen, and Adukulam Naren (recently seen in 'Anubhavinchu Raja'), the thriller is produced b Burugu Ramya Prabhakar.
Helmed by Srinivas Omkar, the film has music by Mark K Robin of 'Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya' fame. Kishore Boyidapu has cranked the camera, while Chota K Prasad has edited the movie. Stunts are by Rabin Subbu. Art Direction is by Govind Erasani. Krishna Kant has penned the lyrics.
