The stampede tragedy at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, which claimed the life of Revathi and left her son Sri Tej critically injured, continues to stir discussions. In light of Telangana CM Revanth Reddy's remarks in the Assembly, Allu Arjun addressed the media today at his residence, sharing his perspective and clarifying the events surrounding the incident.
1. On the Incident:
"This was an unfortunate accident, and no one is at fault. It should be seen purely as an accident. We all had positive intentions, but things spiraled out of control unexpectedly. My heartfelt condolences go out to Revathi's family. My ambition has always been to entertain audiences, and incidents like these leave me deeply saddened."
2. On Misinformation:
"I am calling this press meet to address miscommunication and clear the misinformation surrounding the incident. I feel humiliated and as though my character is being unfairly assassinated."
3. On the Allegations:
"It is untrue that I irresponsibly went to the theatre or organized a roadshow. My car was caught in the crowd, and I only waved to calm the situation. I had permission to visit the theatre, and the police themselves cleared the crowd. At the time, I was unaware of the tragedy. Claims that I refused to leave despite being informed about the woman's death are false."
4. On Actions Post-Incident:
"I immediately asked Bunny Vasu to visit the hospital and assess the situation. While I was ready to meet the family, my legal team advised against it. This is the only reason I refrained from visiting them personally. Instead, I shared a video expressing my condolences and support."
5. On Financial Support
"It’s not about money. I, along with Sukumar garu and the producers of Pushpa, plan to pool resources and set up a fixed deposit in Sri Tej’s name. However, these steps don’t erase the public humiliation I feel due to the baseless allegations against me."
6. On His Intentions
"I have not even watched my own film in theatres. My intention was to elevate Telugu cinema to the national level with Pushpa 2. These accusations are deeply upsetting, but I stand firm in my commitment to clear my name and continue working for the pride of Telugu cinema."
