Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Muthu' released in Japan and became a massive hit there in 1998 three years after its Tamil release. Ever since then the Thalaivar's films are very much in demand in that country. Kavithalaya has decided to re-release the film in Japan and have re-mastered the film in 4K resolution.

Rajinikanth in the promo video has thanked the Japanese fans who have liked the film and expressed his wish for more people to watch it again. He promises that the new print will give a much higher viewing experience than the original as A.R. Rahman too has enhanced his music to today's standards.

Looks like the Japanese Thalaivar fans are in for a bonus treat apart from '2.0' and 'Petta' hitting the screens on November 29th and January 14th respectively.
