Recently, the government of Assam said that those residents of the State with more than two children will not be eligible for government jobs. This rule will come into force two years later.
Reacting to the policy, Badruddin Ajmal of All India United Democratic Front has struck a defiant note on behalf of all Muslims. "Islam doesn't believe in the concept of having only two children. No one can stop the people who are bound to come to this world. The government is bringing this law to stop Muslims from having jobs," he said.
The politician went a step ahead and said that "tampering with nature is not good" and that Muslims will continue to do whatever they want to bear children. He added, "Don't shout later that we have more children."
