Coronavirus pandemic lead to the announcement of the nationwide lockdown which has halted all businesses and jobs and the film industry is one of the worst affected sectors in this phase. Movie shootings and releases have been cancelled indefinitely.

On the other hand, this has affected the musicians as well, as every film involves the work of around hundred musicians, and now without any movie works or stage shows they're suffering without work and access to essentials. Now, musical legends Ilaiyaraaja and AR Rahman have made huge contributions to help them.

Film musicians association president Dhina has revealed that hearing the plight of the musicians, Ilaiyaraaja and Rahman have donated Rs 10 lakhs each to help them. Besides, D Inman, Anirudh and Hip Hop Thamizha have given 3 lakhs each, Thaman has given 1 lakh and Vijay Antony and Ghibran have contributed 50,000 each to help struggling musicians. Each musician will be given Rs 2000 from this money collected, to help them.
