MM Keeravani has begun jamming for K Raghavendra Rao's devotional film on Baba Haathi Ram Ji, starring Nagarjuna in the role of the devotee of Lord Venkateswara. KRR, who is seen sans his famous beard, is seen participating in the music sittings. Singers like Ramya Behara have joined them on the first day.

Telling the legend of Baba Haathi Ram ji, a legendary devotee of Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala, the film has Nag in an author-backed role. The film will go on the floors sometime in May. Suman has been approached to play the role of Lord Venkateswara. If he comes on board, it will be the return of the Annamayya combination. Mahesh Reddy, who produced Shirdi Sai, will produce this film.

As for the story, legend has it that when this devotee, previously known by some other name, was in danger, the Lord himself came down to his rescue in the form of an elephant. Thus the name 'Haathi' for the Baba.

Nagarjuna, KRR, and Keeravani have come together after Annamayya, Sri Ramadasu, Shirdi Sai, and now for this film.
