Popular music director Balabaskar along with his wife Lakshmi and 2 year old daughter Tejaswi went to a temple in Tiruchur in a car driven by Arjun. After offering prayers they were returning back in midnight and when the car was nearing Trivandrum Arjun lost control and rammed into a tree.

Two year old Tejaswi died on the spot while Balabaskar, his wife Lakshm and driver Arjun are admitted in a hospital after suffering serious injuries. The Malayalam film industry is shocked by the incident as Balabaskar has been in the music field from age 12 and at age 17 became a sensation after composing music for the film 'Mangalya Pallakku' . It is reported that the driver had dozed off and caused the accident while hospital sources suggest that both Balabaskar and Lakshmi are in a very serious condition.
