Actor Dhanush had made his debut as a director with the 2017 movie Paa Paandi, starring Rajkiran, Revathy, Prasanna besides Dhanush himself and Madonna Sebastian in special appearances. The movie had received positive reviews and was commercially successful.

Paa Paandi had great music composed by Sean Roldan, who's known for his albums such as Joker, Mehendi Circus etc, and the young composer is expected to score music for Dhanush's next with Selvaraghavan as well.
