Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, directed by Jibu Jacob featuring Mohanlal and Meena in the lead roles has entered the 50 Crore club. The movie has reportedly grossed Rs 38 crores within India and another 12 crores from the overseas centres. After Oppam and Pulimurugan, this family entertainer is Mohanlal`s third successive Malayalam movie to enter the 50 Crore club.

Also, with the grand success of MVT, Mohanlal has now emerged as the first Indian Superstar to have, five consecutive blockbusters within 5 months(Janatha Garage, Oppam, Pulimurugan, Manyam Puli and Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol- have become the consecutive blockbusters at the box-office).

Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol written by M Sindhuraj is about a middle-aged person Ulhannan who rediscovers himself to overcome the boredom in married life. Mohanlal essays the role of Ulahannan while Meena appears as his wife. Jacobinte Swargarajyam fame Aima Rose Sebastian and Sanoop Santhosh played their kids in the movie along with Anoop Menon, Srinda Arhaan, Alencier Ley and many others in the supporting cast.

Bankrolled by Sophia Paul under the banner Weekend Blockbusters, the movie is continuing its glorious theatrical run even after a month of its release.
