Venu's second directorial 'Munnariyippu' has been going places with critical acclaim coming its way from various film festivals across the globe. The latest distinction of the movie is its entry in the prestigious Moscow International Film Festival in its official category.

'Munnariyippu' has already done its round in various festival circuits including the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Chicago Film Festival etc and has won rave reviews. The movie has won Mammootty, who played the lead role, Best Actor award. 'Munnariyippu' marked the comeback of Mammootty after a series of flops. Though the movie was not a commercial success, director Venu, lead actors Mammootty and Aparana Gopinath found much appreciation from the critics.
