Mumbai Police have confirmed that actor Raveena Tandon was the target of a bogus report alleging she was inebriated, driving carelessly, and attacking someone. Following CCTV video proving her car did not strike anyone and she was not drunk, Raveena posted a screenshot from 'Viral Bhayani' on 'X' refuting the complainant's allegations.
The complaint was verified to be false by Zone 9 Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rajtilak Roshan. He said that the video showed Raveena's driver turning the car around when a family walked across the road. Argument broke out as the family confronted the driver. Raveena came outside to check on her driver when things got worse and was immediately engulfed by the throng. Although both sides visited the Khar police station, they eventually withdrew their allegations.
DCP Roshan underlined that the actress was not drunk and that nobody was hurt. It was a misunderstanding during the car maneuver, he said, that caused the incident.
Raveena also posted an image in which the Mumbai Police said that neither side has filed any official complaints. There were also, the police said, unfounded charges of inebriation.
In the social media-viral footage of the incident, Raveena begs the throng to keep quiet and not to hurt her. Supporting Raveena, actress Kangana Ranaut also called for the punishment of those responsible for the road rage incident.
Professionally speaking, Raveena Tandon just wow-ed viewers in the Disney Hotstar courtroom drama "Patna Shuklla," co-starring with the late Satish Kaushik and Manav Vij.
