After being traced through Instagram, a 22-year-old man was sexually assaulted by four other men in Mumbai before being dumped on the side of a road early next morning.
The incident happened on Sunday night when the victim was standing outside a restaurant in suburban Kurla. "They used the details of a restaurant in the background of his photo to track him down and then approached him," the police reportedly said. Claiming that they were his "fans", two of the men got him to go on a bike ride with him. When they started going in a different direction than the one they had planned to take, the boy asked them to stop. However, they took him to a secluded spot where all four of them, one of whom was a minor, raped him. They took away the cash he had on him as well before they dumped him on the roadside and drove away.
The victim called his parents in the morning and then filed a complaint with the police. The accused, identified as Mehul Parmar (21), Asif Ali Ansari (23), and Piyush Chauhan (22), have been arrested and an FIR has been registered against them under sections 377 (forcible same-sex intercourse), 392 (robbery), 323 (assault) of the IPC at the Vinboa Bhave police station in Kurla.
