A teacher from a reputed coaching centre in Mumbai has been arrested for sending obscene videos and crude messages to a 15-year-old female student for the last couple of months.

The accused, identified as Nikhil Dave (37), was arrested after the girl narrated the incident to her father, who then filed a complaint with the police. "The 15-year-old girl has complained of sexual harassment by Dave. The accused recently wrote the names of two songs in the victim's book and asked her to see the videos. She found the content of these videos indecent. He tried to ply her with gifts but the victim always refused," an official reportedly said.

According to the report, Nikhil Dave, who is in charge of the Gurukul Coaching Classes in North Mumbai's Charkop in Kandivali, has been booked under sections 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code and section 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
