Mumbai blast convict dies of heart attack

Mustafa Dossa, one of the five Mumbai blast convicts, died of cardiac arrest at JJ Hospital, where he was admitted after complaining of chest pain.

Dossa, one of the prime accused in the 1993 blasts case, and four others were convicted on June 16 for conspiracy, murder and terror by a Terrorism and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) court. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sought death penalty for the convicts.

Dossa, who has hypertension and diabetes, had complained of chest pain on Wednesday and ward admitted to the jail ward of the hospital. He had informed the special TADA court earlier that he wanted to undergo a bypass surgery.
